Start with a careful inspection
The fall update describes two persistent trains with different starting conditions. Check the locomotive and every wagon before moving.
Gather parts and fuel
The published setup requires a truck battery, glow plug, train belt, control unit, radiator, and air hoses. The trains use diesel.
Look in industrial and farm areas or check the special vehicle trader for parts.
Release every handbrake
Once the locomotive is ready, start the engine. Release both locomotive and wagon handbrakes, choose your direction, and apply throttle.
Persistence matters
Position, cargo, fuel, parts, and couplings are intended to persist. A restart does not automatically restore missing parts or refill fuel.
Find current locations
Trains can move. Ask other survivors or check Discord instead of assuming that an original spawn coordinate is still their current location.
